:: Boot Sectors ::

If the boot sectors I've provided for download do not work for you, then this section will explain how to extract your own from your cds.

To extract the boot sectors I recommend using IsoBuster 1.5. There are other tools which can do the same thing but IsoBuster is extremely easy to use and is my preferred tool of choice.

You can extract images from either cds or iso files. If using a cd just use the drop down box in IsoBuster to choose the cd drive, and if using an iso file just drag the iso right into IsoBuster as I have done in the following image.

Now in the left hand side of IsoBuster click on the line that says "Bootable CD." In the right hand side you should now see 2 files. The .img file is the boot sector that we want. If your image file is called something other than "Microsoft Corporation.img" don't worry.

Now right-click on the .img file in IsoBuster and choose the first option. In this example it will be listed as "Extract Microsoft Corporation.img". Extract the file to your desktop so that you can edit it.

The first thing to do is to rename it to a .DAT file. For example, since this is the boot sector for an XP Pro disc I will rename it from Microsoft Corporation.img to PRO1.DAT. Now hex edit the file according to the guide for the operating system you are working on. When all done just move the file into your AIO-DVD folder and you have your very own boot sector.
